The NCC unit of junior Division (Boys) of 50 cadets was comprised in the Vidyalaya in the year 1997. This Troop is functioning under the dynamic leadership of commanding officer, SHRI S.N. JHA of 1 Guj(Indep) Coy NCC activity, the cadets attending the parade regularly along with the social work with in the Vidyalaya level and outside too. Presently this department looks after by SHRI NAVIN SANJOT (TGT MATHS).

So far NCC department fielded to cadets 04 Approval Training Camp(ATC’S) and shown an excellent performance these very year and as a result, the Vidyalaya cadets won the Parade championship during ATC-2005 at Raidhanpar, Bhuj – Kutch. The Vidyalaya Authority is planning to commence the senior Division NCC(Boys) and Junior Division NCC(Girls) from the academic session 2006-07.

The Vidyalaya also planning to create an independent FIRING RANGE for the use of cadets. In this regards, the effort is on with the NCC Authority regarding design and other relevant information.

Scout unit is also functioning in this Vidyalaya. 37 Scouts are registered from class 8th & 9th. As the scout motto is “ready for every time” our scouts are Eveready for any kind of work of Vidyalaya or Society.

Scouts have collected a fund of about Rs.2500 for the victims of disastrous TSUNAMI.   Any kind of services in the Vidyalaya like plantation, cleaning of campus or village streets, they can be seen. School parade on the national festivals is incomplete if there is not s Scout platoon.

On the Parents Day or any function in the Vidyalaya, our scouts are ready to serve the guests as well as viewers in a respective and decent manner.

All the Guide activities are functioning in a systematic way under the guidance of Miss. D. H. Parmar, TGT GUJARATI.

The Vidyalaya mess is managed by a committee, the head of which is the principal, Sr. teacher the In-charge and the C.A. as secretary. This committee will see to it that the lack of cooking staff doesn’t create any problem in smooth functioning of the mess. The quality of food has improved quite a lot. Efforts will be made to even go higher than that and to utilize all the funds available and to ensure improvement in the standards of the mess.

JNV Dumra Kutch also imparts quality based computer education facilities. Our Vidyalaya has best and well maintained computer lab. It can accommodate 36 students for the practical activity at a time. One student use one computer. All the students of class VI-XII are always curious to visit and perform creative and constructive activities in this lab. At present 36 computers, and educational CDs for class VI-XII are available in this lab. Computer Aided Education help the student in all subject areas to learn and to develop the ability to access, interpret and analyses. Student can often use bulk of software available in the market for improving their knowledge and performance. Students use individual e-mail account to compose, send and receive e-mail message, student are able to access the internet for getting vital information related to their successful and bright future. Students prepare their project in all subjects by using computer. Teachers also use computer lab for preparing various papers related with their subjects and access the internet for websites viewing for important information. Teachers also use computer for watching educational CDs and prepare their results. Our Vidyalaya organize Computer Literacy Programme to the students of neighborhood school every year in summer vacation.

The details of the programme will be as a follows:

• Training to minimum 40 students of neighbouring schools.
• Duration of programme - 30 days.
• Total Periods - 75 (25 Theory and 50 Practical Periods).

The main objectives of Computer Education Programme of the Vidyalaya are:

• To Facilate the students to learn computer on a continuous basis from class VIth - XIIth.
• To empower the teachers to use computers as one of their important teaching aid.
• To create computer culture and consciousness among the young rural students.
• To familarize the students with different range of computer applications.
• Integrate Information Technology with classroom transaction.
• Providing hands on experience to students.

Status of Installation of Computers:

A major aspect of the Navodaya is health and hygiene. Every student is supposed to be fit and healthy .In respect this aspect a health club has been formed. Staff nurse will take a round in the mess and houses and the academic block time to time .Full medical check up of the students have been planed. Medical officer from near by village is visiting on every Friday, and giving treatment to needful .More use of acid and phenyle with full care in the toilets. Staff Nurse and mess committee will visit in the kitchen and check the cooking, making and serving the whole process. Pure and germs free water will be provided to the students. A weekly campus cleaning programme is continuing in practice.

Library is an essential part of any institution in particular to one imparting education. In modern times the new concepts in every field are emerging at a rapid pace and to remain updated with the latest devlopments utility of a good modern well equipped library is in focus to provide books on various subjects to gain the required in depth knowledge which in turn act as proper tool in learning-teaching process. Bokks are best friend for any one especially to the growing childeren who have an unceasing lust for knowledge in all areas to quench their anxiety related to various subjects and on most of such subjects they are enough to raise direct questions but library is the only place where they find necessary access related to their requirement added to this is that they can seek the required guidence whenever needed.

The Vidyalaya has a well –equipped Science Lab for the students up to class x where 25 students can perform experiments at a time. The laboratory is nicely decorated with various charts on different topics and Models are nicely arrange that can be used for educational purposes. The lab is well ventilated and provided with fire extinguishers for emergencies. The science teachers make a good use of the Lab in teaching learning process and to develop scientific temper among the students.

In Navodaya Vidyalaya apart from academic plan the Vidyalaya has to prepare a plan for CCA for the all round development of the students, as per the heads given below:
